1. Keep your body hydrated

As you expose your body to the sun, it loses a lot of moisture. Drink more water to keep yourself hydrated and your skin moisturized to prevent it from drying.

2. Apply Sunscreen when going out

One of the best skin care tip this summer is to protect your skin from the sun by staying indoors when the sun is at its peak. This is usually between 11 in the morning and three in the afternoon. But if you cannot avoid going out, make sure to always apply sunscreen for protection. Apply it at least 30 minutes before going out. And when you are out for a few hours already, apply the sunscreen again.

3. Moisturize your skin

Moisturizers are very essential in the summer to keep your skin hydrated. Avoid oil-based moisturizers because oil makes your skin feel warmer when exposed to the sun. For best skin care protection, look for a water-based moisturizer instead which has a more natural cooling effect.

4. Use toner

To keep your skin cool and feeling fresh, apply toner after shower in the morning and before you sleep. Toner also keeps your pores closed and helps prevent dust and dirt from clogging the pores and cause skin problems like pimples and acne. You can apply commercial toner or use homemade toner such as cucumber toner which has a natural cooling effect.

5. Exfoliate your skin

Exfoliating your skin is also an important skin care procedure especially in the summer. It helps remove dead skins and promotes the growth of new cells in the skin. Exfoliating the skin also helps improve blood circulation in the face. There are many available products available in the market but choose the organic ones. After exfoliating your skin, you can follow it up with a moisturizer.

6. Cleanse your skin

Cleanse your skin at least twice a day. It will make you feel fresher and cooler. Even if you are at home all day, it is a good practice especially before going to bed.

7. Avoid Drinking Soda

Soda drinks, soft drinks, and other aerated drinks are full of sugar which is bad not only for your skin but for your overall health. Many people have the tendency of drinking them when it’s really hot and they feel thirsty. Instead, go for the healthier and cheaper option which is water. You can also drink fresh fruit juices or coconut water as they are healthier substitutes.

8. Maintain a healthy lifestyle

For ultimate skin care, eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, sleep well, and exercise regularly. These are the keys to having a healthier skin and healthier body regardless of the time of the year.

By observing a healthy life style and the skin care tips mentioned above, you can have a more enjoyable summer while maintaining a good skin health.
